Project Two | Acrylic Spray Paint on Board

For my second Actlab project of the semester, I again used imagery of my childhood in a decontructed fashion. This time I chose two family portraits and a photo with each of my parents. I then separated the photos into three distinct levels - seen here as the three colors in each piece. The first level is representative of culture and experiences of one parent, the second of the other. With only these two levels however, the image is relatively unintelligable. However, when a third combined level is added, the image becomes clear and representative.
Each of these four pieces is a complete metaphorical representation of myself as I've reflected and deconstructed my memories and experiences. And the colors, although vibrant, have no intended meaning persay.
