Project Three | Acrylic on Canvas

My final project of the semester was a 3'x4' acrylic painting on canvas. The painting, again a portrait of my family from my childhood, reflected my overall feelings of self-reflection at the end of the semester. Where my other projects deconstructed and attempted to make sense of my own personal "borderlands", this final piece was my attempt at a summary of how I felt after a semester of work.
I have an overall view of myself and where I stand in the context of my family and my experiences, but a lot is left unsaid and unexplored. There's a sense of general conpletion, but also a feeling of imbalance. I have a lot more reflection to go, but I also have a life of living in these same "borderlands" to experience. Perhaps I may continue work on this very piece as I continue to reflect and learn about myself, but I may leave this as it is - a product and symbol of my thoughts, feelings, experiences, and life at this very point in time.
