Lucid Dreaming--Interactive Dreaming
I have always been fascinated by the concept of lucid dreaming. The first time I ever heard about it was in middle school when one of my friends told me that while she was dreaming that night, she had realized it was a dream and inserted Brad Pitt into her dream. I always wanted to have a dream that I could control since then.
Unfortunately, I have never been able to accomplish lucid dreaming. I can only wonder and pray that one day I will be able to realize that I am dreaming while in a dream.
I decided to create an interactive flash animation that I felt represented lucid dreaming in my eyes. Enter the world of Ann's Interactive Dream and play around with the environment I created. Some of the objects will change merely by hovering the mouse over them while others you have to click the object for something to happen. I figured this was as close as I could get to lucid dreaming.
I know this is not exactly the same concept as lucid dreaming. In lucid dreaming you can create things and make them go away--you pretty much are writing the script as you go along. In my project, the world already exists and you can play around with it. To me, this is still more freedom than my dreams allow. My dreams happen to me, and I have no control whatsoever. So, in this project I am exploring the ability to control aspects of your dreams.
