The cliché "a
picture is worth a thousand words" rings true in my mind. I am
strongly influenced by all things visual and feel strongly that powerful
ideas can be communicated without words. Imagery draws on emotion,
experience and perception, challenging a viewer to think and compare new
ideas to learned viewpoints.
For each of my projects this semester I sought to tell a
story in images. I am particularly fascinated at the emotion in
narrative that can be portrayed with few or no words at all. I
attempted to create images that use traditional or iconic ideas of evil
to invoke emotion, but challenge the viewer to consider new meanings.
