Here is a picture of the book cover that is the object for project one:
My sound project is intended to give the listener an aural sample of what reading Dr. Rossing's The Science of Sound is like. It does not dwell on any single particular concept, as the sections from the book that are used in the project were chosen on the spur of the moment. Structurally, a hip-hop beat is placed underneath the reading samples. I recorded several of my close friends in order to avoid the monotony of a single reader. On some of these samples a digital guitar processor was used. While there is no specific reason why a hip-hop beat is used, it is intended to provide a base, thus giving the piece cohesion. Bookends are placed at the beginning and end in the form of sound clips that I recorded of turning pages. As the soundscape approaches its conclusion it builds into a cacophony of sound. This was intended to build intensity and excitement within the piece. All sounds used within the soundscape were recorded by Byrne Rock. All original music within the soundscape was composed and recorded by Byrne Rock.
Cut the crap, hear the project
