Final Project
So here it is, the final project. My intention here was to produce a hip hop track. I sampled heavily from a song
by Manu Chao which gives the rhythm a spanish feel. It's not typical hip hop, but I wanted to underline the
fact that hip hop music borrows from other genres in style, often incorporating them in unique ways.
For the lyrics, I cut out excerpts from newspapers, making a collage of words. I found it interesting that
one can take words from the mouth of the media that so often misrepresents the social truths that hip hop music
initially intended to uncoverer, and create something from the perspective of the disenfranchised. My friend Adam Neal
provides the lyrical prowess that is the icing on the cake.
This track was made for educational purposes and is not intended for sale or
distribution. Thanks and enjoy.
this is the album cover that holds the song that I sampled- credit where credit is due.
