WHY ECO???
Ross and I initially was interested in housing the homeless. Trying to tackle the problem seemed like fun and if we could help people along the way, then why not. We hadn't any interest in designing a piece of mobile architecture and at least housing the homeless seemed like it would benefit our desire to help others. After several weeks of research, we grew weary of trying to help individuals who really didn't want or need our help in the first place. Plus, we found ourselves not really caring as much about the homeless as we thought we did. Besides, the design was beginning to interest us much more. A backpack and a tent all in one little package. We wondered why this invention hadn't been created yet. I've seen lots of tents and lots of backpacks, but not a single one could claim to be both. After investigating the many possibilities of creation, Ross and I felt the need to further the invention. Inflatable Pneumatic Air Structures caught our attention and after further investigation, the only way was the pneumatic way. With a built in compression unit, the tent could be up in a matter of a minute or two with hardly any effort at all. The inflatable structures were also incredibly lightweight. I couldn't imagine a better outdoor invention. Backpackers are always looking for lighter packs and quick tent set-ups. The biggest test was in asking ourselves ifweI would buy one if the price was affordable? The answer that came to our minds, "Yes, we would both want to purchase an EcoPack."
WHO???
Another question that needed to be answered was, "who would want an EcoPack?" We approached our target audience carefully. Surely the weekend or day packer would enjoy the convience and ease of use of the EcoPack. Another target audience would be those who just wanted to take it easy and slow life down a notch. The EcoPack's design was made for easy mobility, so a change of pace would be about as east as pushing a button and trekking over to one's next land claim. The EcoPack was designed to be used even by the most novice camper/backpacker. It's for those who need some leisure time and just want to get away for a short while.
WHERE???
The EcoPack's material is much stronger and more durable than any of its competitors. It is unequaled in ease of set-up and adaptable to its environment. The support weights can be found throughout nature and eliminates the need for tent stakes. Its unreasonable to think the EcoPack could be set-up on thousands of jagged rocks, but who wants to sleep on jagged rocks anyway? Because of the EcoPacks ease of set-up and tear down, the backpack/tent can go just about anywhere you can carry it. Due to its inflatable design the EcoPack will even float.
