Ross
and I initially was interested in housing the homeless.
Trying to tackle the problem seemed like fun and if we could help people
along the way, then why not. We hadn't any interest in designing a piece
of mobile architecture and at least housing the homeless seemed like it
would benefit our desire to help others. After several weeks of research,
we grew weary of trying to help individuals who really didn't want or need
our help in the first place. Plus, we found ourselves not really caring
as much about the homeless as we thought we did. Besides, the design was
beginning to interest us much more. A backpack and a tent all in one little
package. We wondered why this invention hadn't been created yet. I've seen
lots of tents and lots of backpacks, but not a single one could claim to
be both. After investigating the many possibilities of creation, Ross and
I felt the need to further the invention. Inflatable Pneumatic Air Structures
caught our attention and after further investigation, the only way was the
pneumatic way. With a built in compression unit, the tent could be up in
a matter of a minute or two with hardly any effort at all. The inflatable
structures were also incredibly lightweight. I couldn't imagine a better
outdoor invention. Backpackers are always looking for lighter packs and
quick tent set-ups. The biggest test was in asking ourselves ifweI would
buy one if the price was affordable? The answer that came to our minds,
"Yes, we would both want to purchase an EcoPack." |
