Project 1 - 02/12/2008

I wanted to do something with Photoshop for my first project. As Joey mentioned in class, we should venture outside our comfort zone in our projects, so I decided to do something I hadn't done before: paint. This project shows you how to combine Photoshop and a digital projector to create pop art. If you'd like to look at a quick Photoshop tutorial I wrote to explain the process, you can download one here.

I am not saying that this method can work for everyone. As Joey pointed out in class, the people whom this method tends to benefit are those who might already have a good eye for art. Also, not just any picture will make a good pop art piece, hence the reason I selected two iconic images: Che Guevara (as Peter Griffin) and Audrey Hepburn. Both these pieces were originally painted by Andy Warhol and were not chosen deliberatly on my part.
