Project Number 1
Culture Jamming-
This doesn’t sound very hard, which is part of the reason why Julie, Robert and I chose to attempt this for our first project. We decided that the best way for us to do culture jamming as a performance was to make up a little skit and perform it on stage during presentation day. We made signs, we had video clips, and a number of other props to assist us in culture jamming. All of this would prove to be of no help. Our project fell apart while we were in the middle of the performance. The timing was off and there was a couple of miss cues that sent that eventually doomed the performance. But even through all this we all managed to hold it together long enough to finish. I sure am glad the first project is somewhat of a free B.
Project Number 2
Freestyle Walking- anything other then normal walking
I couldn’t tell you where freestyle walking originally came from. All I know is I’ve been freestyle walking since about the 8th grade. This is when my friend Adlai and I came up with the idea to try and do grabs and tricks without having roller blades, a bike, or skateboard. Not that we didn’t have each one of those items, we did, we just thought that it would be funny to walk around and pretend to be serious about doing these tricks while other people tried to figure out what exactly we were doing. I also wanted to do this because I wanted to make a movie instead of a live performance. I’ve never been good a performing because I never practice it so it only made sense for me to try a video instead.
Project Number 3 – The Final Project
Art of DJ
This project came together as a result of Robert, my roomate, and I both being DJs. So it is only natural for us to have a project since we have a natural ability to perform as DJs. In this video Robert and I can be seen Djing at a number of different locations in Austin, some of which you would never expect to see a DJ. This video shows how the DJ can interact, adapt, create, or become his environment.
