For this project I had two chairs, facing each other, placed close together. Behind me I had two red circles spinning around. I introduced myself and thanked the volunteer for help. I quickly placed his hand on the table, and put my hand on top of his. I continued my memorized monologue, and everytime I would say a red word ( a key word that is part of the hidden message) I tapped him on the shoulder. This repeated tapping was a device used to take the mark out of his comfort zone, while still listening to me in the background.
After I had finished I asked the volunteer to please tell me the gift I had previously requested that he thought about. His answer was....it was....yes....A MOTORCYCLE. While this is not exactly what I was wanting (remember the red bike I had hidden in the back).
Before the presentation I told the class how I had performed this act over ten times, and that every single time it had worked perfectly. This was a complete lie in order to ease the class and my volunteer that I wasn't making this up as I went.
