Artist's Statement
I am a theatrical designer and visual artist whose primary medium is light. I possess a strong interest in both opera and experimental theatre, and I am most fascinated with exploring the overlap between theatrical design, multimedia, and visual art forms such as performance and installation art.
I crave opportunities that will lead me to adventure and travel to new places, especially to foreign countries. I seek beauty in the simplicity found in new experiences, people, places, and art forms I haven’t been exposed to. I love to explore creating that which is both stark and lush, and I enjoy taking on a diverse range of projects that reflect this contrast. I value living simply and sustainably, affecting change when I can on the environment and the world around me. I am a strong woman who cherishes her independence and freedom.
I love being a part of a circle of close friends and artists, seeking inspiration from that group as well as inspiring others to create. I take care of my friends, my community, and myself by being as engaged and passionate about them as I am about my work.
