Who Am I?
My name is C. Reed and I am finishing a B.A. in Rhetoric and Writing this semester at the University of Texas. I grew up in Houston and I have two younger siblings. My interests range from ethnomusicology and experimental animation to 'avant-garde' literature and public access television.
How Did I Get Here?
Ever since I began high school, I have been fascinated by the relationship between sound, technology and humanity. I worked with sound in the theatre department at my school for seven years and began experimenting with multitracking in 2002. I have self-released a couple of CDs and continue to explore new modes of listening and composition. I am especially interested in recording as a compositional tool.
What Do I Do?
I maintain a number of blogs (hunting magic, google is a poet, the anonymous answering machine), set up shows at my house (rancho relaxo), play in a few bands (reverse x-rays, nervous tics, tall reed), make t-shirts (etsy), take pictures (flickr), shoot and watch videos (youtube), listen to music (last.fm), and read books in my backyard. I have also made a few other websites (webspace).
