Project 2 - Jesus of Borgspace

The ties of consciousness to physical bodies had a lot to do with the inception of this project. I know that I am personally enthralled by idea of having multiple consciousnesses inhabiting one body or having a single consciousness being in control of several bodies. Multiple personality disorder, Legion from the Bible, and the fact that we all sort of wear many faces depending on who we are around (one behaves differently in front of their grandmother than their best friend) all seem to relate to the former. Concerning the latter, immediately The Borg from Star Trek and the buggers from Ender's Game came to mind.

I decided to incorporate Christianity because of the inherent assimilation or prostelyzation that attempts to incorporate all into their collective, so I built a myspace page for Jesus of Borg. I wanted to have photoshop be used for my basic aesthetic, so of course he has profile pics.

I also have screen shots of what the page originally looked like when I completed it.

Below is a copy of the main profile page for Jesus of Borg here on the actlab server. So the original state of the page can be seen. WARNING: Although the code for the main page is on the actlab server all other links are active and will lead you off the actlab server.

If you would like to see what has happened to the site now, you can go to the actual myspace page and see how the profile has evolved.

Part of the additional interaction that I wanted to happen with this is to have several consciousnesses acting under this one persona. I really do want as many people as possible to take any kind of action under this myspace profile. Leave comments on other people's pages, post bulletins, change the background, the pictures or videos or whatever. I simply ask that you do not delete the account or change the password. What really adds another dimension to this project is the participation of multiple consciousnesses under what typically is accessed by a single person. I think that people have a natural tendency of not wanting to disturb something that someone else has created out of respect, but in this case I want the site to be severely changed in any and everyway possible. It is not MY profile or MY website... it belongs to whoever is logged in at the time so do whatever you feel like.
