Forming an Alphabet
|
Proposal: Watch your three minute film and draw to it. Identify 26 characters that appear in the film and arrange them as a visual alphabet. Process: As I watched my film, I made rough sketches of the shapes that I saw. I often paused the film in order to study the shapes better. I did this several times over the course of a few days. I then switched between studying my film and studying the sketches that I had derived from the film. I discovered many interesting characters in the process. Most of the characters are rather abstract but I also found objects (#'s 8-13) that looked like little creatures. I then placed them in a chart in my sketchbook so that I can refer back to the characters and study the relationships between them. |
