======================================================== Using the ACROBAT 5.0.5 Installer/Updater ======================================================== This installer creates a folder on your computer that will hold a copy of the Acrobat Reader with Search the updater/installer. You can use the installer/updater to update to newer versions of Acrobat Reader as they become available. Install Actobat Reader 5.0.5 as follows: 1. Double click the installer icon in the FOR_MAC folder on the CD-ROM. 2. Click Continue to allow the installer to create a folder on your computer. The installer will create an Acrobat folder on your computer and copy the Installer/Updater to that location. 3. In the Acrobat Installer window, choose Custom Install if it is not already selected. 4. Select Acrobat Reader 5.0 and Search. 5. Click Continue. 6. In the Alert dialog box that appears, choose one of the following options: - If you want to install Acrobat Reader 5.05, click Install. This installation process is very fast. - If you have an internet connection and you want to download and install a newer version of Acrobat Reader, click Update. The download can take a long time, depending on your internet connection. 7. After the installation begins, follow the onscreen instructions. The cross document search capability allows you to quickly search through all of the books on the CD-ROM at the same time. See Using This Collection on the CD-ROM for more information. Note that the Acrobat 5.05 search capability does on work on OS 10. The Reader will work but you will not have access to the cross document search.
