Tour Notes
About the Shockwave Player. For more information about the Shockwave Player, visit Macromedia's Shockwave page, www.macromedia.com/software/shockwaveplayer/. For examples of Shockwave content, visit the Shockwave Web site, www.shockwave.com.
Browser Support. Macromedia states that compatibility issues exist with the Shockwave Player and Netscape® 6. Avid testing has confirmed that the Avid Xpress® DV Tour will not run successfully in Netscape 6.2 on a Macintosh® system. Avid recommends that you use Internet Explorer 5.1 to run the Avid Xpress DV Tour on a Mac® OS X system.
On Mac OS 9.x and earlier systems, the tour should run successfully in Netscape 4.7 or in Internet Explorer 4.5 or higher.
On Windows® systems, the Avid Xpress DV Tour has been tested in Internet Explorer 5.5, Internet Explorer 6, and Netscape 6.2.
System Requirements. Macromedia recommends a Pentium® II or higher processor (for Windows) or a G3 or higher PowerPC® processor (for Macintosh) when running Shockwave content. The Avid Xpress DV Tour is a resource-intensive application, and Avid recommends that you close other applications while running the tour.
Performance Issues. If you experience problems running the tour, you can usually improve performance by closing other applications. In the best-case scenario, run the tour with the browser as your only open application. On Mac OS 9.x and earlier systems, you might be able to improve performance by increasing the amount of memory allocated to the browser.
In rare circumstances, a movie in the tour might lose synchronization between the voice-over narration and the on-screen presentation, or even stop at the end of a page and be unable to move forward. You can usually escape from this by clicking the Next Page button to manually advance the movie to the next page.
