This CD-ROM can be run on either a PC or a Macintosh computer. The MainMenu.pdf file allows you to view Acrobat Reader files of the Release 5.0 software documentation. Once you have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer, double-click the MainMenu.pdf file to open the online collection. The online books require Acrobat Reader 3.01 or later. The Acrobat folder contains free Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 software for PC and Macintosh computers. INSTALLING ACROBAT READER ON A PC ================================= The Acrobat folder contains the following installation software for Acrobat Reader 5.0.5: rp505enu.exe Double-click the file and follow the onscreen instructionst to install the software. DOWNLOADING QUICKTIME ========================= The Effects Guide contains many QuickTime movies. The movies in the Effects Guide will run on QuickTime 4.0 or later. You can download the latest QuickTime player from Apple's web site: http://www.apple.com/quicktime DISPLAYING MORE THAN ONE DOCUMENT IN A WINDOW ========================================== After you install the Acrobat Reader, open the CD and double-click the Mainmenu.pdf file. This document provides easy access to the books in the collection. To allow more than one document to remain open at the same time, you need to set a Preference in the Acrobat Reader interface. 1. Choose Preferences from the Edit menu. The Preferences dialog box appears. 2. Choose Options from the list of Preferences. 3. In the Miscellaneous area, deselect the ìOpen Cross-Document Links in Same Windowî option. 4. Click OK. You only have to do this once. Adobe Acrobat will use this setting every time you start the application. For more information on using the Acrobat Reader interface, see the Using This Collection document.
