;this is a short, experiment designed to put the viewer in a theremin trance. yvonne plays steadily for 6 minutes, morphing into different colors, and moods as the music changes.

the theremin ia a purely electronic instrument, until recently the only instrument played without being physically touched. it works by electro-magnetics. when the instrument is working very weak electro-magnetic waves are generated. the theremin senses the air and movement surrounding the two antennas that control pitch and volume. this movement alters the conditions in the electro-magnetic field, affecting the frequency of the alternating current. "in this manner, a kind of invisible touch is produced in the space surrounding the antenna, and, as in a cello, a finger pressing on a string produces a higher pitch as it approaches the bridge," Leon Theremin.
i want the audience to fall in love with the theremin. this is a piece to meditate to and so many viewers will probably become bored by the repetion. the sounds it creates mesmerize and enthrall me. i also want people to become aware that this strange and otherworldy instrument exists.
