BoguReal Science versus Puppet Science
One of the class readings was very interesting: 'Seven warning signs of bogus science'. The article was talking about bogus science. There were 3 points that totally made sense to me. Me? I am an advertising major. One of "those".
1- The discoverer pitches the claim directly to the media: The same old story... Media's guilty again. But is that wrong? Who said it is wrong?
2- The discoverer says that a powerful establishment is trying to suppress his or her work: Crazy scientist model, who doesn't accept his failure since "it is the intruge of the government", or "Soviet Union stopped our work!" (I thought they collapsed?), then "it must be Russian spies!"or as the last try, "UTOSWETAGO is responsible"
(Unknown, Top-Secret and Weird Things are Going On).
3-The discoverer has worked in isolation: For sure. Science is not cumulative. For sure...
Then why not write a story, which demonstrates these points? Why not use the puppets of Sesame Street whom we have missed so much?

We chose one discovery for these 3 points: diet pills! They are so "diet" that they turned Ms Piggy to Shakira, Little Bird to a tiny bird.
