F2 is a fast loading flexible width theme for WordPress. F2 is developed by Srini G and is released under the GPL.
Customizing style.css: You are encouraged to customize the CSS any whichever way you want, but it is advised you don't edit the style.css file directly. You can create a file named custom.css and put in all your CSS customizations in that file (the filename 'custom.css' is important as the file will be automatically included). This practice will preserve your customizations when you upgrade to a newer version of the theme.
An even better method to customize the theme is by using theme inheritence. Read this blog post for details: Using theme inheritance to customize your theme.
Links page: If you have a large number of blogroll links to show off, you can have a links page that will list all your links in a page. Just create a new page, name it as something like 'Links', choose the template 'Links', leave the page blank, and publish.
Archives page: Just like the links page, you can have an archives page that will list all your categories, tags and monthly archive links. Create a new page and choose the template 'Archives'.
Horizontal navigation menu: By default, the horizontal navigation menu displays inside the header. This looks pretty if you have just a few items for the menu, but looks ugly if you have a large number of items. You make it such that the horizontal menu displays below the header if so desired, just open the style.css file, scroll towards the bottom and follow the instructions.
The translation template file is named f2.pot and is located in the 'languages' directory. The resulting PO and MO files should go in the 'f2/languages/' directory, and should be named in the format xx_YY.po and xx_YY.mo files respectively. Where xx refers to the language code and YY to the locale. For example, the German translation files will have the name de_DE.po and de_DE.mo. This xx_YY should be the same as the value you define for WPLANG in wp-config.php.
You can use an application like poEdit to translate the theme, or just translate the strings in the f2.pot file and send it to the theme author. All translations sent to the author will be bundled with the next version of the theme.
