Step 1

 
  Foreground Footage

Dancer was shot in front of a simple blue and green screen.

 
       
 

Step 2

 
  Garbage Masks

Garbage masks were made around uneeded or difficult spots in the frame.

 
 

Step 3

 
  Green Key

The green screen was keyed.

 

Step 4

 
  Blue Key

The Blue screen was keyed.

 

Step 5

 
  Alpha Channel

The alpha channel of the image was isolated. The image was also flipped horizontally.

 
 

Step 6

 
  Live Background Plate

The background plate was shot.

 

Step 7

 
  Final Composite
An adjustment layer was created to match the real shoadow in the background plate. This adjustment layer used an alpha matte of the alpha channel of the foreground image. This layer was then scaled, positioned, feathered, and motion blurred to make the final composite.
