Description
Using graphite and paper, use the created form from project one
as the basis for 12 sketches emphasizing positive and negative
space.
Process
First, I decided to create a series of sketches that show the
object from various distances from a centered focal point. This
way, when looking at the sketches, one will have a better idea
of the perspective used when drawing.
I then sat
around for a really long time attempting to sketch my model from
the varying distances and locations around the form.
Most of them
demonstrate negative space. With two of them, I only captured
the sticks if there was a corner facing me. On two others, I captured
only the highlights created on the wood by the lights I used.
AFter all sketches
were complete, I rushed to the computer lab to scan them...unfortunatley,
only one scanner worked, and it was being used.
I proceeded
to attach the sketched to the newest form for display. Fear not
however, I used crappy hot glue to attach my sketches, so they
can easily be removed and reattached for scanning.
Reasoning
I wanted to display my sketches in a way that would give one the
impression of space.
Experiences
I hate macs, and I hate that the scanner drivers didn't work on
the available machine.
Conclusions
before Critique
ALthough I am disappointed with my drawings, I am pleased with
the way they all came together in the end.
