My five week trip to japan was a valuable opportunity to discover how images begin to firmly situate a culture in relation to other cultures.
								Japan's unique historical periods of cultural resistance and acceptance make for images that are foreign, but somehow familiar at the same time.
								My photographs begin to make linkages, both connections and distinctions, across cultural boundaries.
