I wanted this project to address the issue of copyright and the changing understanding of intellectual property. I wanted a the piece to be made by as many contributors as possible where no one person could quantify their contribution. A series of table tops were interchanged on a stationary base as visitors marked, crayoned, sharpied, and painted additions. Contributors were encouraged to alter and destroy the work of other creators. At first people held fast to their notions of copyright, fearful of effacing what someone else had done, but by the end a creative commons was formed with no regard for the original author.
