I entered RTF 331R not knowing what Postmodern Gothic was. However, with my limited film and art theory, I figured I had a good idea what the terms meant separately and any gaps in my knowledge would be clarified on the first day of class. Instead, I discovered that the professor also possessed a limited definition of the postmodern gothic, but it definately involved cyborgs lurking underneath my bed and monsters roaming the forest. It was up to me and my classmates to decide. As the class progressed, everyone would show up on "project day" with their definition of the postmodern gothic in tow. Luckily, my own expeditons into the genre fit on a DVD.
Through eating chocolate Christians, shaking hands with plumbing, and choosing Angelina Jolie to give birth to the anti-christ, I've discovered that just about anything completely over the top and out of the ordinary fits into the postmodern gothic, granted there has to be a certain percentage of black space with screaming banchees.
Enjoy my projects and I hope the descriptions are adequate, given ther self-defining nature. Remember, if you believe enough they will live.
