Danielle McMillen
Danielle wanted to think of a more abstract way to tell a story. She
decided to do a rather original idea of creating cards that have images,
stories, and dreams that she's experienced throughout the past year. Her
goal is not only to display some of her personal experiences, but she hopes
that other people who view the cards will be able to relate to some of the
ideas and emotions expressed in the cards. The cards are placed in random
order and the images and stories can be interchanged. By placing the cards
in any order you wish, people are able to create an individualized story.
Many changes occurred from the start of the project. She started off using
Tarot cards with fortunes on the back. In an attempt to create a project
with a more personal feel, she used pictures from the past in addition to
some pictures that she shot for the cards. Danielle enjoyed working with
the cards because it gave her a chance to look back on past events and
reflect on her personal growth. In response to how Danielle feels about the
final product, "I thought it came out pretty interestingly..."
