Project 3: String Art

II decided to create a three-dimensional art piece with distinct tactility. I played around for many evenings trying to create a method to make this happen. I took two halves of a small curtain rod attached them to a black foam board. It took me about 9 or so hours of work to create this piece. It was completely engrossing, I am still working on it. I plan on working with string in my art now.

Strings are flexible, they can change shape and then return to a linear position, they are definitely postmodern. The strings are linear but chaotic, chaotic but strategically placed. Every string touches every other string through another, nothing is seperated and the invisible (the space in between) gives shape to the exposed.
