When I first looked at Mandrian's Broadway Boogie (pictured below), it was relatively easy for me to imagine what the painting would look like in three dimensions. I imagined a city with tall buildings and crowded streets. At first I thought that this was a fairly simple task to complete, but I found that I was completely mistaken. I struggled for a few hours trying to produce something that was both true to the painting and that I was pleased with.

This was my first chipboard model. I tried ways of creating curving lines and acute angles, but was not pleased with the with the way it turned out.

In this model as well, I tried new things but was not happy with this model either. From this point, I tried a few other methods of modeling, all of which were unsuccessful.

Then finally...a model that I liked!!!!!

From this chipboard model I created my final basswood model...
