bullfrog ribbit.mp3 This is the sound of a bullfrog. Actually, it doesn't really sound much like a bullfrog, but I still think it sounds pretty cool.
bird call.mp3 This is what you would hear if you were to walk around in the morning as the birds chirp around you. Or at least you'd hear something like this.
chipmunk.wav I got this sound from another website. It's supposed to be the noise a chipmunk makes, but I think it's recorded way too high and proabably a little too fast. But it did make a good beat for my first sound project (see below).
wind.wav This is actually my friend Jeff sounding like wind. I think it does a pretty good job. It was recorded straight into the computer using an omnidirectional mic.
Sound Project One - This 45 second mp3 is the song I created based on my object (a butterfly). This butterfly reminded me of taking hikes in the mountains when I was younger. Many times on these walks I would see butterflies among the trees and flowers. In this project I took sounds you would normally hear on a hike in the forest and I cut them up and messed around with them to create this song.
Sound Project Two - For this project I took the concept of simultaneity and mixed in some war sounds. I originally thought that I would compare human voices with the sounds of gunfire and soldiers, but the result didn't really do that. Instead, I played a lot with simultaneity but left the war sounds in the background. I am not sure exactly how the war sounds fit in, but if I wasn't so sleep deprived I could probably make something up. In the end, I left the war sounds in there as filler, or background noise. I ran into a lot of problems in the creation of this piece; I am thoroughly convinced that I have some sort of magnetic field surrounding me that makes any computer (and miniDV camera) crash if they get too close to me. But, after eight crashes, an actual physical crash, and a lot of stress I am pleased with the result (even though I probably took a few years off my life for it...well worth the effort, I think).
Seamix.mp3 This is the sound of the ocean. It really has nothing to do with my project at all, but I was stressed out and this sound made me feel a little better.
WarSounds2.mp3 This is the audio from the video game Medal of Honor. (This specific clip is from the Omaha Beach Mission). Pretty cool and realistic if you ask me. And you should see the graphics...awesome.
