Kyle John Schmidt is a second year student from the Michener Center for Writers studying Playwriting and Fiction.  Originally from Montezuma, Iowa, Kyle got his B.A. in Theatre from Grinnell College and spent a semester studying at the National Theatre Institute at the O'Neill Center in Waterford, Connecticut.  His plays have been produced in Iowa, Colorado, Kentucky, Illinois, Texas, Missouri, and New York City.  In the spring he will debut his first full-length play, Queen, at the University of Texas-Austin David Mark Cohen New Works Festival.
