Exploring Circuit Bending

 

 

 

For my second project I made my first attempt at circuit bending. Circuit bending is basically re-wiring circuit boards(often in children's musical toys) to make unique sounds for which it was not originally intended. This can become a very technical hobby, but it takes quite a bit of time and patience as I quickly learned. I used my Shure SM58 mic to record the audio, and edited in Adobe Premiere. Like my first project, this is primarily an audio piece. However, I decided to utilize some of my recent footage I took while overseas in Europe and construct a visual component. In the editing process,I manipulated the footage in an attempt to parallel the video with the convolusion of the audio.
