"Rebirthing Tank" Model, Paula Martin 2001 |
It might be said that the rebirthing tank was created in response to humanity's persistent and growing dissatisfaction with natural being. One person wishes she had green eyes instead of brown. Another, wishes he was female instead of male. What would it be like to change yourself into the perfect being? What if you could do it over, and over again? The human body is an architecture of mobility. The human mind is a mobility of personality. Technology has advanced such that it is now possible to alter our genetic code through a manipulation of mental will, thus offering each of us a chance to "rebirth" into the person we have always wanted to be. | |
First, a potential candidate for rebirthing must attend seminar at their local CRAIS (Center for Rebirth And Identity Shift) regarding the process of becoming their ultimate self. Psychiatric counselling is advised in order to help the person adjust to their new shell. Those who reach candidacy status are allowed to recreate themselves within a virtual realm using the latest virtual identity software. Once the self has been created virtually, it is usually only a matter of uploading the VS (virtual self) into the rebirthing tank's processor and then proceeding with the actual gestation. The tank is designed to birth one person at a time. The person enters the tank and is suspended within an amniotic solution developed from that particular person's genetic make-up. Oxygen is supplied within the fluid. Sound and visual stimuli then tap into the genetic modulation centers of the brain via trans-technological hypnosis. The body's cells begin restructuring themselves in accordance with the virtual self created by the person. Gestation (depending upon complexity) takes anywhere from 3 days - 12 weeks. |
