The image above was PROJECT ONE.
My collage explores themes of art/science, the responsibility of
creation (human hands), the divide between internal and external
(the silk worm and the beautiful photos of the silk worm's lung
fibers), and virus cultures that confuse the borders between life
and death.
Images include:
1. Parade Floats of Science Themes (Frankenstein's Monsters and
the Witches in the upper left) from a Brazilian competition for
high schools. COST: Priceless.
2. Orbs: all shots of viruses (HIV, Blue Tongue).
3. Artificial Lungs.
4. Fibrous red, green, blue thing on the right edge, center: Hamster
Liver.
5. Finger Cross section that goes with quote next to Frank's Monsters.
6. UFO Head: a combination of two images, UFO and HEAD with TIE.
7. TWO MONSTER HEADS: one white hairy one and one robot.
8. Plastic Tree Trunk Replica.
9. Silk worm (bottom of white column) and innards (background image
top and bottom, centered).
10. Forensic Science Kit for Kids. Learn to reconstruct the faces
of dead bodies.
12. Newton's Head surgically transplanted onto the Body of Scientist
Actor for Nissan.
13. Human Organs in a Bag and on Ice.
14. Pills of various kinds (one that fell off was a tomato pill,
why eat tomatoes when you can take a pill? artificial color to match!).
15. Scary Chick (white, claw-like hands cut off and put around
the center orb).
16. Plush Microbes (black death [black] and sleeping virus [purple]).
