I began the film by creating a rough storyboard to get an idea of what kinds of shots I needed to compose. The set was essentially created from cheap Christmas ornaments and painted poster boards. The most entertaining part of this process was cutting apart dolls and stitching pieces back together. It is like attacking your childhood and all the social symbols that you are supposed to revere. This kind of animation is particularly interesting to me due to the fact that there is a driving force, such as ghost, behind each movement of the doll but we do not see a physical manifestation of this presence. We simply know it is exists.
