This is one of Thomas Edison's first experiments with film.
It is also a quite interesting picture of a sneeze...precisely
what I am aiming to remedy.
original sin
When I first began discussing my project idea with others, I was advised to stick with my original idea, but I had my doubts. Apparently plan B was another "been there, done that" but I was convinced that I could make it original. Besides, when you take a cough or cold medicine you have to think about it, and I don't know about you, but that just takes all the fun out of it.
How many people do you know that enjoy taking medicine? In order to alleviate both your cough and cold symptoms and the annoying task of having to consiously ingest medicine to cure it, I came up with a way to put a cold remedy into common products that you would use everyday anyway, with or without a cold. Now isn't that cool? :)
original idea
At first, I thought it would be brilliant to do an experiment that involved microwaving objects, such as chip bags, in order to shrink them down to very small sizes. After a long time of trying to find something to tie that into, I found that there is a not-so-accurate way of curing sleep apnea and snoring by sending microwaves through the throat to shrink the size of the swollen tissue that causes people to snore.
As interesting as this was, I eventually figured out that it probably wouldn't work because i was doing exactly what Sandy told us not to do: reinventing the wheel. So, I threw out plan A and moved on to plan B...despite the discouragement I had previously recieved regarding plan B.
Just to give you an idea of how small
this chip bag got to be, here is the bag
in comparison with my midget cell phone.
