Welcome to the tutorial for the Second-Year EGS students!

First I’d like to thank Sandy Stone and her staff at the Advanced
Communication Technology Lab, University of Texas at Austin, for setting up
and hosting this discussion webpage for us.

This online tutorial is open to faculty and second-year students of the
European Graduate School and is designed to facilitate students’
preparations for the summer residency in August 2000. Reading the assigned
books in a set order during a specific time gives you the opportunity to ask
questions, discuss problems and get a feedback to your reading experience
from your classmates. Still, this tutorial should not be confused with an
online class since I am aware you are all extremely busy until the summer:
Your intensive class time will begin when you arrive in Saas-Fee. Therefore,
this tutorial should be low-key, ONE BOOK A MONTH is sufficient and you are
requested to enter just one comment each month (but feel free to comment
more often).

Your performance in the tutorial discussions will be appreciated; especially
students who have been too quiet last summer in Saas-Fee have a great chance
to let us hear their voices now.

Have fun, friends!
