anne, i think this bring up the concept of transgender again, the possiblity
of multiple and sometimes contradictory identifications? how do we define a
male or female mind anyway? i'm a little tired of feminists arguing that
women adopt the male gaze or male mind to gain subjectivity in a world that
objectifies them. i mean, like, duh. the next thing is to ask how can we
think about things like 'mind' 'subjectivity' 'presence' or absence for that
matter, as categories around, between against gender binaries/boundaries? is
this even possible given the fact that we are working within a very limited
language structure?
