It's possible that they're copy-protected tapes which have been copied
without removing all the copy protection. Our cute li'l black boxes say
that they don't work with such tapes; for whatever reason, it's the
original or nothing. Possibly bypassing them may help.

Anyway, I just got back from Marilyn and Art's, having had a nice evening
with them and having missed the live performance evening at the conference.
Ah well, win some lose some. I got a ride in Art's Boxster! What fun!!
What delightful leather smell! Last night a few of us went to the Tagaka,
the best shabu shabu restaurant in LA, where we had Kobe beef sliced thin
enough to see through and consumed quarts of hot sake, all on MIT's tab, so
I don't feel too bad:) Shabu shabu works thusly: You pick a beef slice up
with your chopsticks (it falls apart if you're not careful, it's that
tender), dunk it in boiling broth for a few seconds to cook it to taste,
dip it in one of several sauces, and pop it in your mouth. Delectable!

See you at 3:10pm Sunday?

*kisspoof!*
