They are?? That's no bloody fun.

I think the muffler is usually held up by two rubber
doohickeys, and it's likely that one of them has ripped.
(This happened to me once before.) I expect that the
object is cheap, and that you & Sandy could install it
in 5 minutes or less.

The windshield is a different issue. Sigh.

?? That's truly bizarre.

I could swear that we _both_ did all the right paperwork!

Yes, no kidding. Your insurance prob'ly won't work if the
registration isn't in your name, and I am assured that
my insurance does _not_ work if I let other people
drive my car. This is definitely a priority issue. Argh &
double-argh! (We _did_ do the damned paperwork --
I'm sure we did!) If there's anything that I have to do
about this, please let me know. Did you go & register
the car in CA, and did they tell you anything? (If you
don't have CA plates, you didn't register it. The trick
is that if you DO have CA plates, then the car should
be in your name; if they don't believe you own it, they
won't issue plates or a title to you...)

You are very lucky indeed! This could be a Big Bad
Thing. Congrats, btw.

Mine too, though I am facing a huge pile of crap that
must be reduced until it is merely a largish pile. Sigh.
