Bio:

Andy Baxter: Born in Wautauga, TX in 1985, Andy Baxter loved movies in the womb. His first film was Aliens (which he got into for free because he was still inside his mother's stomach). Although excited by Bill Paxton and Sigourney Weaver's performance, Andy decided against entering the world by bursting out of Paige's (his mom) chest. With his semi-professional fishing father, (Kevin) it was an upbringing surrounded by Three Dog Night, CCR, Stevie Ray Vaughan and slasher films (and of course fishing). With one sister arriving before him (Emily-now an engaged and gorgeous UT graduate) and one soon to follow after (Katelyn-the beautiful mother of Andy's perfect niece Rylee Paige) Andy also had a steady diet of romantic comedies (titles include: at least 35 viewings of "Fried Green Tomatoes" and a dozen or so of "When Harry Met Sally").

Andy entered college wanting to be the bald and spectacled Anthony Edwards from ER. However, it did not take him long to realize that although he wanted to help people, he did not want to feel entrails in his hands or coax a heart back to beating with a massage. Thus, he took the Maya Deren approach. (She was quoted, after being asked why she became a filmmaker instead of a doctor: "I wanted to help people...but I also wanted to be like Jesus...I just wanted to touch them and heal them.")

Therefore, Andy proceeded into a period of labeling and chasing his passions. The RTF program at UT fit nicely into his plan. You see, Andy realized somewhere in high school that he watched movies very differently from most of his peers. While some were watching "Friday the Thirteenth" to catch the obligatory nude scene found in each installment, Andy's eyes were trained to find and enjoy the sound of Mr. Kreuger's knife fingers scraping on metal and the look of the shot that showed his gloved hand trace and swipe over the warm boiler room surfaces. Andy had found a home with the rest of the "interesting" students in the film program.

Now a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, Andy plans to graduate on the four-and-a-half year plan with a radio-tv-film degree. Although uncertain of his future, Andy knows that loving people and his savior (Jesus Christ...see earlier reference in the bio) will be paramount for him. Whatever he does, his passion for film will find it's place in the regular rotation.

His favorite scene from cinema is the taster's choice moment between men on the park bench in "Good Will Hunting".

May the Lord whisper lovingly into the ears of those who read this and those who don't. Amen
