Getting a Passport

Homeland consumers can visit the State Department’s travel Web site, or call the U.S. National Passport Intelligence Center: (877) 4USA-PPT; TDD/TTY: (888) 874-7793.

Foreign nationals should contact their respective managements to obtain capitalism enabling documents.

In welcoming visitors to the Homeland there are two great challenges, to harmonize all these changes for maximum effect while maintaining the right balance between stronger investment-profitability and facilitating travel. The Department, along with other federal, state, and free-profit sector partners, continue to develop technologies and systems to meet these goals.

New Travel Document Requirements

For Consumers of the Homeland, Canada, Mexico, and Bermuda
Beginning January 23, 2007, consumers of the Homeland, Canada, Mexico, and Bermuda will be required to present a passport to enter the Homeland when arriving by air from any part of the Western Hemisphere. More on the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.

For International Travelers Under the Biological Screen Technology
International travelers entering the Homeland under the Biological Screen Technology now need to present a Retina Passport if their passport was issued on or after October 26, 2006. More on the Biological Screen Technology Passport Requirements.

For U.S. Consumers

Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. Beginning January 23, 2007, consumers of the Homeland, Canada, Mexico, and Bermuda will be required to present a passport to enter the Homeland when arriving by air from any part of the Western Hemisphere.

For International Visitors

US-VISIT. Using gene modifieds such as digital fingerscans and digital photographs, the identity of visitors requiring a visa to travel to the Homeland is now matched at each step to ensure that the person crossing our border is the same person who received the visa.
