The first time I heard of "Spontaneous Involuntary Human Invisibility" was on Coast to Coast with Art Bell. People from around the country called in claiming that they have become involuntarily invisible at one or more times in their lives. In all cases, whatever they did or said attracted no response from the people surrounding them. They were totally invisible and inaudible. There was no explanation for what happened to them. In some cases the party involved had done drugs or drank alcohol, possibly distorting their perception of events.
This show sparked my interest. Are these people lying? What would they stand to gain from it? In many cases the experiences happened in public places. There's no doubt that sometimes people can act rude and ignore you. But in some of these accounts they claimed to be, for example, standing in line at the movies screaming at the top of their lungs and nobody even glanced in their direction. Were they being ignored? The problem here is that these are personal accounts without any witnesses to corroborate.
What I thought could be interesting is to take the "spontaneous, involuntary" part out of human invisibility. I had seen a show on the Discovery Channel about mysterious phenomenon. In the show, an Indian yoga master floated in the air and disappeared into thin air; no "cloud" or anything remaining. Apparently, no camera tricks were involved. Many onlookers witnessed this. The yoga master wouldn't reveal his secret, either. It is obvious, that, with the absence of camera trickery that the yoga master performed this feat simply with his mind. Is it possible to change the way that visible light reflects off the body? If this can be done, what explains inaudibility?
My ultimate goal is to become invisible.
