All about the project

In the Fall I wish to create a stop motion animation to Edgar Allen Poe's "The Black Cat", or possibly "The Mask of Red Death".

For this semesters project, I choose to experiment with machining the armature for the puppets. Bearing Joints are by far the superior method of stop-motion animation because the joints can move such minute ammounts, and be tightened and loosened as needed.

The final production will be somewhat like watching a ballet, or dance theatre. The characters will all be humanoid, but they will wear masks, and express the story(which will be narrated by some creepily voiced chap I have yet to find) through movement and interaction with each other.

The sets will be quite minimalistic, and the focus will be on the characters movement.

It's gonna take for friggin' ever to animate...but it should be a production worth watching.
