Description
Using FormZ, take the scans of sketches from Project2 and recreate
them in the form of an exploded cube. Cube should explore spatial
relationships, and may no longer resemble a cube.
Process
I began by scanning my images, and created a simple cube with
six sides, but with no sides touching.
I then began
to experiment with the tool palette by moving segments and tabs
on the planes with the images on them.
I also included
a flat plane under my model that was a mirrored surface. I thought
that this would allow one to see more of the cube at once.
AFter hours
of experimentation, crashing computers, and running out of memory,
my third project was complete.
Reasoning
I would like to say I was inspired by Billy Idol...unfortunatley,
that would probably not be appropriate, so instead, I will claim
that my intent was to create a model that emphasized the vertices
present in my original model. As I moved segments about, the scanned
images begin to distort, and took on a somewhat Zebra look. Go
Zebra's go!
Experiences
I hate being confused, and I especially hate it when my stupid
computer runs out of memory...both of which I experienced during
this horrid project.
Conclusions
before Critique
I wish that I had developed more of a method. The problem is that
this program is entirely new to me, and I could not follow through
with most of the ideas that I had concerning this project.
