Heaven In A Box
INSPIRATION: An abandoned shoe box and my need to relieve some creativeness.
I wanted to make something that showed the beautiful side of death. I wanted to make something that would depict heaven. The fact that it is in a box is not significant; however, its contents, use of colors, and textures are.
PROCESS AND IDEA: First I painted the inside of the box with soft blue and purple colors, because those colors are calming and soothing. Next, I added a white fluffy material to the bottom of the box, because I perceive heaven as a soft, comfortable, and safe place. Then I added a white floating figure above the box, because I believe that when we are in heaven that we will become shapeless free flying forms. I also included a picture of my parents, because I think that we will be able to see our family below from Heaven above. The last piece of my box can be seen when you turn the flap in the box over, underneath it are things that I believe that no one has to worry about once they are in Heaven such as money, darkness, and being cold.
