This is my first exploration with dreams and delirium. I decided to blur the lines between reality and non-reality. In order to achieve this I needed to create situations where people could be thrown off, be blinded by absurdity until they are questioning themselves about what just happened. With time and funds working against me, I found a cheap and simple way to slightly disturb public consciousness. My first experiment involves throwing flower petals on random people. The two locations I chose were downtown on Congress in Austin and then at Mt. Binnell around the time the sun was setting (peak visiting hours). The result was that people were surprised and happy. Overall, reactions were small. Perhaps the internal reaction cannot be captured by film or seen by an observer. Perhaps. The next experiment was more calculated and planned out. I had a girl pretend to fall asleep in class and a boy come into the class and kiss her. Here I was experimenting with blurring the lines of daydreaming and reality. The class's reaction was, again, hard to gauge, but I imagine people repress their reactions in order to serve their self consciousness. As a primary mission, I deem it successful and i encourage others to think of new ways to disturb public consciousness.
