So, you want to know the story behind the short film. The film is pretty cute, and is starring my ex (Paul) and me. Yes, my ex, we broke up May of 2005É after having been together for just under 3 years. Initially the short was going to be about pickup lines, and I had some great footage of random people from Halloween delivering priceless lines, and then I had talked to Paul, asking if heÕd consider writing a song for my project. We discuss some lines to include in the lyrics, and the next thing I know heÕs getting back to me with the song ready, I listen to it, and where I thought I would fill up lyric-less time with pickup lines from random people, I decided that a dating montage would work better, but then came the issue of getting someone to do it with me. Really itÕs not something you can ask of someone youÕve been on a date with, and the general response I had received from my guy friends about the project was not that positive of one, so again, Paul came to the rescue. We spent an evening out of town, an evening in town, and a day riding the bus around the city, finding places that would be good ÒdateÓ spots. We went more places in 3 days filming, than in 3 years of dating (maybe not quite true, but it definitely felt like it) Editing the film was an interesting undertaking, I could only stare at the cutesy couple of my past for so long in one sitting. Seriously though, this project was the ultimate in performances and a fascinating study on the human psyche. I enjoyed creating it, even if I was a bit haunted by my past.

Oh, and I considered after the thanks at the end, throwing in pieces of reality, (ie – telling him that he needs to pretend to be happy because the camera was rolling) but, why ruin a good thing?
