This photo was taken from the bleachers during a Hemlock Varsity Football game. For some reason, I was obsessed with the team even though they were never very good. The best season that I ever remember them having is 5-4. Growing up, my parents wouldn't allow us to play football, because they thought that we would just get hurt. They wanted to keep us healthy for Baseball and Basketball. So I made the most logical decision: I decided I would be a kicker. At our house, I used old thrown away pieces of wood, and a few nails to build my own field goal posts. I remember one day when I came home from school in the 4th grade, there had been a bad windstorm. I was worried about my field goal posts, because at school I saw a fence get blown down in a nearby yard. My field goal posts stood strong.
