The Young Ones

Kids want to live

in a cartoon reality.

Have sex with beautiful people,

get skinny on candy.

Kissing makes you happy,

playing in your sleep.

Growing up can't stop me--

living young is sweet.

There's no better high

than sugar in your veins,

a thrashing in your ears--

friends, boys and games.

Finding stars in my carpet,

drinking soda while I drive.

I wanna be a kid forever.

Smile--be alive.

A Faded Day

I hold you

the way a breeze does.

Craving to take you

in my hands

and yank you out of me.

Haunted by

the tasty sight of you.

I feel your music on my

lips.

Can we be romantic

under the sparkling sun?

With the frothy wind on our

fingertips.

Hold my burning skin

a little bit longer.

I yearn to dance.

And inspire a cloud

to shed its poofy splendor--

Care to join me?

We can break the sky.

Hug me silly-tight

and laugh in your

lazy-tongued way.

Stop and kiss me.

A Toni-type of kiss--

bite my lips.

Soon,

the night will enter

bringing yellow desires.

And you'll wish

you had made me smile.

The stars can't sing you

to sleep anymore.

But their music makes me dance,

under an open sky,

and only if you're watching.

Cookies

He gave me some cookies

and asked me to stay.

I made him laugh,

and walked out anyway.

Untitled

"I've never met a girl like you before."

he said

with a quirky wonder

that made me hate him

in a turquoise sort of way.

The night sky

gave me mocking stars

as I kissed lips

that made the world cringe.

There's no passion

in this empty skin.

The thief of my heart

is far from here

and all I have is this,

in the moonlight

and my boredom grows.
