Final Draft has a sophisticated Help system. You can navigate it by topic, or by using its index. You can even perform a full text search on all Final Draft help topics. By clicking the context mouse button (Windows 95) or control click (Macintosh) on a Character name you can add or remove such extensions as (O.S.) and (V.O.) By clicking the context mouse button (Windows 95) or control click (Macintosh) on a misspelled word you can view or select from a list of correctly spelled alternatives. Final Draft's Bookmarks feature allows you to access frequently used areas of your script quickly and easily. The Bookmark-related commands are in the Document menu. By using the "Keep existing numbers" option in the Scene Numbers dialog, you can generate 'A' and 'B' scenes. There is no limit to the levels of 'A' and 'B' scenes that can be generated. You can place user-defined text in the Header. This is useful, for example, for printing the current act in the Header. Use the Insert Label command from the Document menu to label your acts and set up your Header to display Labels. You can rename any scene using the Edit Scene Number command from the Production menu. When renaming a scene you don't have to limit yourself to just numerical names. For example "IX" is a legitimate scene number. By pressing the left parenthesis key '(' during a SmartType character match, the current match will be entered and a space and a left and right parentheses will be added ready for you to type an extension such as O.S. Pressing Shift-Return generates a soft-return. You might want to use this in action, for example to create a new paragraph of action without any lines of space before it. There is no limit to the number of times that you can lock your pages. One way to alter the length of your script is by using the "Very Tight, Tight, Normal and Loose" options from the Page Layout dialog box. One way to alter the length of your script is by changing the indentation for your elements, especially Action and Dialogue, by using the Elements command from the Format menu. You can copy fully-formatted sections of your script into a ScriptNote. At a later time you can copy and paste the text back into your script, fully formatted.
